This graph illustrates the throughput of wheat flour over time. There is little difference between meshes with 600 micron mesh openings. However, when the mesh openings are as fine as 236 microns, mesh blinding occurs on the untreated sieve mesh, throttling throughput, while Nafitec® Sieve Mesh continues to perform. This level of performance in a very fine mesh allows for the removal of ever finer impurities from the flour, improving product quality.

Most customers doing sieving are trying to cut down coarse particles. We say “coarse,” but many customers are working with particles at the level of tens of micrometers, with those sizes trending down year by year. However, in trying to achieve such microscopic sizes, many customers are struggling to face the challenges of plummeting productivity due to sifting with ever finer meshes, and at times, the simple impossibility of sieving at those levels.
We developed Nafitec® Sieve Mesh to help solve these types of problems.
